Steers

"mama"
"papa"
"cow"
(bends down to touch his leg)

The first time Sean tried to string together several words and tell me a story about the time he was at his grandma & grandpa's house when the steers licked his leg.

He talks about them everytime we are there and even tells them goodnight when he leaves.

The Scene?

The living room. The overhead fan gently blows air down and around the room. Josh lounges on the sofa. I lay on the love-seat with my feet propped up on the arm, a square pillow under my head at the other end. Sean is playing on the floor with a balloon.

Sean decides to sit on the couch with me and begins his climb-up-on-something-that-is-too-big-for-me-but-I-can-do-it routine. I am in his way, but I was here first! I'll help him up but I'm not ready to move from my comfortable spot just yet.

I offer my hand. Denied. Sean continues to try to make his way up without my help.

But wait! He isn't trying to get up on the couch!

He is bobbing his head on my belly. He has exposed my belly button - he is blowing raspberries on my belly!

Sean is laughing and I am laughing. Sean is doing it again!

I grab Sean and pull him up on the couch, giving him raspberries on his belly.

:)

Fair

Sean had fun petting the bunny...
petting a sheep...
"Ooooooooo, how exciting!!"
"Wow! A trophy! Maybe I'll get one someday, too!"
For now, we just have to work on remembering not to pick up the chips that fall on the ground at the fair.

Laundry

Sean helps with the laundry. He knows what to do if you ask him to put his clothes in the dirty clothes basket. He will help me put clothes into the washer. I give him the wet clothes from the washer and he puts them in the dryer. He'll even help get clothes out of the dryer sometimes. Impressisve for a 1-year old.

P.S. He's not so good at folding clothes... yet

Mind = ???

Do you have days when you...

don't know which end is up?
lost your marbles?
forget everything ?
can't get anything done?

Today is one of those days. The fire alarm went off at 9:30 this morning and my day was off-kilter from there. It is only 3:13 p.m.
